Verse 1
They were his friends, Jesus truly loved them –
Mary and Martha and Lazarus.
Lazarus was sick, so they sent for the Master,
but he stayed on two more days where he was
and prayed…

“Father, I thank you for hearing me
And I know you hear me still.
You will hear me tomorrow and no matter what,
I know that you always will.”

Verse 2
Finally he came again to Judea.
Martha ran to meet him saying, “Lord, you should been here.
My brother would not have died if only you were here
but even now whatever you ask of God will appear.”
Jesus prayed…

Verse 3
When he arrived he found Lazarus dead
Four days, already in the grave.
Mary and her friends wept and yet Jesus said,
“I am the resurrection and the life that saves,”
As he prayed…

Verse 4
“Your brother shall rise again!  Where have you laid him?
Take away the stone from the cave.”
Jesus then commanded, “Lazarus, come forth!”
and he came out wrapped around with the clothes from the grave.
And he said…

Alt Chorus
“Loose him and let him go.
Unbind him and set him free.
My prayer has been answered as I knew it would be.
My Father has heard me.”
